) What does "Kemet" mean?
"Kemet" (keh-MET) is the term ancient Egyptians used as the official name of their country. (Sometimes they also called it Ta-mery, or "beloved land.") Kemet translates as "Black Land", in reference to the fertile banks and fields surrounding the Nile (black from the soil). In contrast, "deshret" is the term for the "Red Land" or the desert (a modern term derived from "deshret") that surrounds the fertile "kemet". By using the term Kemet instead of Egypt, we refer to the country by the name its own people called it (Egypt is an English form of the Greek name for this land, Aegyptos, itself derived from Coptic hi(t)-ka(u)-ptah, "the house/temple of the ka of Ptah").

Before we can talk about the real name of Kemet we first need to establish the real name of the continent known in modern times as Africa named after a Roman (SOUL-DiER) The ancient name for Africa before it was Hellenized was “Akebu-Lan”. Which means “Mother of Mankind” or “Garden of Eden”. This in itself says a lot.

The name Kemet is refers to the the Land of the Black people! Some white researchers claim that the name Kemet refers to the rich dark soil that was deposited along the banks if the Nile! This would be a sufficient rsponse for most but lets face it, there is dark soil everywhere on Earth! Black people were primarily located in so- called Africa! the majority of Black People till this day currently reside in so-called Africa! It is Ironic that Kemet was called the Black land perhaps the soil was black, but the people were black also! There were NO white people there at that time! therefore Land of the Blacks makes a lot more sense that land of the black soil! And lets face it! most white Egyptologists were racist anyway! They do not even acknowledge the fact that Kemet is part of Africa! They consider Kemet a part of this fictitious Middle East! Which real is a part of so- called Africa! Most Hollywood movies also depict whites as ancient Egyptians! The fact is that many lies are beling told to deny the Black people of their true heritage The greatness of the accomplishments performed by the ancient Kemetic people belong to Africa and the African man and woman! Europe was also civilized by the Moors! So yes the black people are the Mothers and Fathers of civilization! Whites tell lies to keep this from the masses of black people on the Earth! It is racist and the Africans Moors ruled and civilized Spain and brought culture to Europe!

To most white professionals KEMET my mean "black land" but the facts of genetics strongly suggest that the amount of "Melanin" levels found in the tissue of the ancient African mummies are never found in the white and yellow groups and this is absolute ...

"The Melanin Dosage Test"

Between Jan.19 and Feb.3,1974 UNESCO held a symposium in Cairo Egypt and they invited 20 of the most prominent Egyptologists in the world to attend...
The question came to the table as what "race" did the Egyptians belong too, then the committee ask all the participants to submit working papers on the question..
Of the 20 Egyptologists ,there were two black scientist Dr.Theophile Obenga and the late Dr.Cheikh Anta Diop .. Obenga was a linguist who submitted his paper first.. In his paper he showed the committee that the Asiatic,European and Mediterranean languages had nothing in common with the old KEMETIC aka Egyptian language whatsoever, then he illustrated that the Kemetic,Nubian and Ethiopian languages revealed that they all had the same "root words" so when they spoke to one another they understood one another .. Now Diop had at his disposal tissue samples from one of the ancient mummies and with chemical and ultraviolet light he was able to count the "Melanin" in the tissue sample ...He concluded that the levels of "Melanin" found in the samples are just NOT found in the yellow and white race groups .. So after three days Diop and Obanga waited for the challenge to come from the other participants but this never materialized so the committee dismissed the papers from the other eighteen participants and declared that these ancient African people were from the black family group...

I'm seven years late but to answer your question correctly. The word(s) Egypt, Egyptian etc. is Greek. The Hellenist empire came after the Kemet Dynasty.

kemet means black land and for those who have no knowledge and understanding this is confusing, kemetians didnt just just name things everything they did had a science behind it.black is not a color but yet a dominant and infinite state of being or existence a perfect state to plant and develope as like the mind or the universe all infinite and dominant.and this relates to the original inhabitants of the land being black there is no way to avoid this.white people have always tried to discredit the original peoples intelligence they think we have always been jungle dwellers only in our sleep and dormant mental states does this behavior surface we are the essence of intelligence and the true civilizers of humanity

That makes sense because of the soil. The misinterpretation that it means land of the black people just didn't make sense. One, African people are brown skin of different shades and the term black associated with them is a recent term given to them by the white man.
