I just started taking Ortho Tri Cylclen Lo on March 9. I did start a day late because thats when my dr prescribed them and she suggested i start them because i would only be a day late. Well I will confess, I am not a very good pill taker, so i missed 2 pills in a row. One of them was the last one from the 1st week and the other was the very first of the second. And I missed another from the second week. So in total I missed 3 pills and started the pack late. And I did have sexual relations without any other protection. And for a few days now, my breasts have been SOOOOO sore, way more sore than they would be before my period. They even hurt while i walk. I do get worn down a lot faster, so by the time i get home all i wanna do is sleep. So what do you all think? Is it just the stupid pill or could it be more. My period is supposed to start on march 29. Any legitimate advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!!!!

I already tried the patch and my dr. and I agreed that it was too much hormones for me, cuz i swear i was more fatigued than a women carrying triplets. I won't do the IUD cuz i don't plan on being on bc that long and the shot... NO WAY. I have heard too many horror stories about that one. So the only thing i can take are pills.

It is always important to use backup contraceptive products if you miss pills often. I suggest you get on a time schedule to take your pill. Try making a a routine before you go to bed. This will remind you that you need to take your birth control pill before going to bed.

Your mind can play with you a lot, but in this case I do suggest you take a pregnancy test. Good luck....

If you're really concerned then take a pregnancy test, there is a test you can take even before your missed period. I thought you are supposed to be on the pill for an entire month before you have unprotected sex?

I can relate to not being a good pill taker which is why I had to try other methods of birth control. You should talk to your doctor about getting an IUD or that depro-vera shot.

Well, I hope you know the answer by now if your period was supposed to start on March 29. If you didn't have one, you should take a pregnancy test. If you did have one, you should still take a pregnancy test. If you cannot take pills effectively, you should try another kind of birth control like Depo-Provera (a shot every 3 months)or an IUD or something. I wish you well with whatever happened!

If you missed more than 1 pill in any of the last 2 weeks, you should have used backup birth control. It says to do this in your information leaflet.

So there is a VERY good possibility that you might get pregnant. If you don't get your period on the day you're expecting it, then I would recommend taking an HPT.

You might want to call your doctor and explain what is going on, your hormones are probably all confused because of you missing so many pills. You may also want to discuss the patch or shot with your doctor since you can't remeber your pill. You also need to speak with your doctor about the risks of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. Take this from a lady with AIDS.

Ok first off, just a tip;
If you miss three days or less in a row you can take up to 3 pills altogether. Its in the small manual you get with your birth control! (Check it out!)

You may be pregnant, but if you have the slight doubt, just remember your mind is very powerful...Your symptoms can be all from your mind!
G'luck hunny!

Go ask your doctor. Do you get medical advice from a plumber, or lawn advice from your hair dresser? You need to call the doctor and ask her. You (or your insurance company) are already paying her, so why not make use of this resource?

you mean your period is suppose to start on April 29th right?
If so you are gonna have to wait until then to see if it's late, but it sure seems to me like you are pregnant...
