Hey,

Im going to the groceries today, and I wanna start to bring my own food from home to work. The food they have here is basically fatning and the salads are super expensive. I need some tips on what good foods can I buy to bring to work that are good for me? I know that salads and fruits are healthy, But there are other foods that are good for you too and actually taste really good. I dont wanna go over the limit and buy only salads. Is there any good stuff, like maybe hot pockets, or tv dinners that are good and healthy? Thanx!

Make an effort to eat foods from all food groups daily. Have healthy snacks with you when you're on the go and plan to bring your lunch so you're not going out all the time. It will save you a lot more money and fat calories as well. Eat fruit when having a jones for sweets. Watch your portion sizes and include lots of veggies. Include whole grains when eating bread or cereal for more nutrients and added fiber. Eat more healthy unsaturated fats like nuts and sunflower seeds, use olive oil when cooking. Limit your saturated fat (from dairy and meats) to 10% or less of your total calories. Make a grocery list to make sure you're including all of these foods to avoid impulse purchases and stick to your list.

There are so many healthy foods. Lean pockets are good but I get sick of them after a while, and some of them don't taste so great. You can try making your own stir fried foods with veggies..good and tasty. I usually just buy mixed frozen veggies and stir fry with chicken or shrimp. What about pita pockets? They're like sandwiches but I like them a lot better. I also like pita bread and hummus. Good luck with the shopping!

Don't know I go home for lunch and water plants and do laundry and dishes, vacuum them rush back to work.

Turkey sandwich or veggies and fruit sound good. Or cook some chicken and make them into cubes with tomates. Also a stuffed tomatoe with tuna is healthy. Waspa bread is a healthy filler with a hard boiled egg too.

buy your favorite type of nuts, or seeds (mine are sunflower seeds) snack on those, this gives you the fiber and protiene you need. Any type of sandwich with tons of veggies are great for lunch, you can make your own soups like chicken noodle soup you just gotta buy some bones (which are like only 2 dollars) boil the bones in water with celery, onions, and carrots for a good 8 - 10 hours (perfect if your working) throw the bones and veggies out and refrigerate over night, skim off fat and put in your favorite veggies and pasta, add seasonings, and a chicken boullion flavoring and voila healthy as pie (lol) you can freeze and refreeze this soup as many times as you want just as long as you season it back up with salt and pepper. Also those knorr soup to gos are really healthy and have 2 servings of veggies in them (they can get kinda expensive though) um... yeah possibilties are endless just gotta get a little creative and out of your comfort zone, check out www.recipes.com for more ideas. good luck

you can get things like lean cuisine or weight watchers dinners... they have all different kinds of dinners to choose from and they taste pretty good too. go to the deli and get some lean deli meat sliced the way you want and use wheat bread to make sandwiches. maybe lean pockets? i never had them but the name sounds ok...lol.
