In some cars, CE or Check Engine light indicates there was a fault recorded in the car's engine management computer.
Service Engine light, on the other hand, can mean your scheduled maintenance is due.
My Honda Accord acts this way...
You should consult with your owner's manual. It should tell you EXACTLY what each indicator lights mean.
