A distinction is often made in the philosophy of mind between the mind and the brain, and there is some controversy as to their exact relationship, leading to the mind-body problem. The brain is defined as the physical and biological matter contained within the skull, responsible for all electrochemical neuronal processes. The mind, however, is seen in terms of mental attributes, such as beliefs or desires. Some adhere to metaphysically dualistic approaches in which the mind exists independently of the brain in some way, such as a soul or epiphenomenon or emergent phenomenon. Other dualisms maintain that the mind is a distinct physical phenomenon, such as electromagnetic field, or a quantum effect. Materialistic options include beliefs that mentality is behavior or function or, in the case of computationalists and strong AI theorists, computer software (with the brain playing the role of hardware). Idealism, the belief that all is mind, still has some adherents. At the other extreme, eliminative materialists believe minds do not exist at all, and mentalistic language will be replaced by neurological terminology.

The brain is the organ that is enclosed in the skulll of an animal... the actual tissues and cells. The mind is the cognitive label given to the brain, by poeple, to help with comunication and discription. It also allows people to believe that there si a larger difference between humans and other animals. Everything has a brain, but some would say that only being capable of thought and the expression of those thoughts have a mind.

Mind refers to the collective aspects of intellect and consciousness which are manifest in some combination of thought, perception, emotion, will and imagination.

There are many theories of what the mind is and how it works, dating back to Plato, Aristotle, Adi Shankara, Siddhārtha Gautama, and other Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers. Pre-scientific theories, which were rooted in theology, concentrated on the relationship between the mind and the soul, the supposed supernatural or divine essence of the human person. Modern theories, based on a scientific understanding of the brain, see the mind as a phenomenon of psychology, and the term is often used more or less synonymously with consciousness.

The question of which human attributes make up the mind is also much debated. Some argue that only the "higher" intellectual functions constitute mind: particularly reason and memory. In this view the emotions - love, hate, fear, joy - are more "primitive" or subjective in nature and should be seen as different in nature or origin to the mind. Others argue that the rational and the emotional sides of the human person cannot be separated, that they are of the same nature and origin, and that they should all be considered as part of the individual mind.

In popular usage mind is frequently synonymous with thought: It is that private conversation with ourselves that we carry on "inside our heads." Thus we "make up our minds," "change our minds" or are "of two minds" about something. One of the key attributes of the mind in this sense is that it is a private sphere to which no one but the owner has access. No-one else can "know our mind." They can only know what we communicate.

Brain

brain, or encephalon (Greek for "in the head"), is the control center of the central nervous system, responsible for thought. In most animals, the brain is located in the head, protected by the skull and close to the primary sensory apparatus of vision, hearing, equilibrioception, taste and olfaction. While all vertebrates have a brain, most invertebrates have either a centralized brain or collections of individual ganglia. Primitive animals such as sponges do not have a brain at all. Brains can be extremely complex. For example, the human brain contains more than 100 billion neurons, each linked to as many as 10,000 other neurons.

The brain is the actual, physical organ; the mind is a more abstract concept used to collectively describe many of the functions of the brain. Mind would not include things like the control of body functions or reflexes, but does include things like thought, perception, and memory.

Listen brain is what which stores our memory like if your mom says that you have to go at 4pm at some party then you store it in your mind and that time your brain is working. It stores the instruction that you have to wear this or that at that time your mind is working and at 4pm when you remind the instruction then your brain is working like it reminds you that you mom said these things.
Brain is what you are thinking and it connects your body part with you mind like nervous system. For example when you touch a hot pot your mind tells you that it is hot and don't touch it. Its clear that it established your boy to your mind and what ever you think is your mind you use your brain to remind some thing.
When you are solving the question of mathematics at that time you used your brain to remind stuffs like formula and other tricks.
I hope so it 'll help for you. Best of luck.
