Probally the same reason that Libs get so caught up in what conservative tv personalities say.
or their fasination with Karl Rove
I cannot ever remember any presidents political advisor ever being critised like Rove has been.

BS alert.
It's the left that trots out celebrities as if their opinion matters.
You think we didn't notice when Angelina Jolie said her little scripted piece about being "carbon neutral" on the recent awards show? If it wasn't scripted, why did several others make the same comment, obviously without a clue what it actually meant?
Now, Alec Baldwin specifically was one of your left wing celebrities who was put on the failed liberal talk radio to try to counter the right wing talk radio, so even more than O'Donnell and Streisand, he was made into a political icon by the left.
The reason his insane tirade gets play is so YOU can get a look at what you chose to represent you. Most rational people already knew he was an idiot. Now you can see he's in need of therapy if not involuntary confinement for it.
There's another reason as well. One of the things we're seeing in the aftermath of VT is that people who knew the shooter realized he was a little off, but in this world of "tolerance", there's no one to say anything to, nothing to be done.
Well, it seems that the world is on notice now that Alec Baldwin is an unstable individual. Some other celebrities are now refusing to work with him because he may go completely off, and they may not be able to stop it, but they don't want to be there when it happens.

I know, it cracks me up. Yesterday one of the trolls on here racked up at least six questions about Sheryl Crow and toilet paper. Either she thinks Sheryl Crow's opinion is very important or something about toilet paper blows up her skirt. Either way, it's gotten to be surreal.
Even better? The far right wingers will tell you that Hollywood is corrupt, just a bunch of degenerates who should keep their mouths shut and stay out of politics. That is until they want to use it against someone, like Hillary Clinton for instance. All of a sudden what David Geffen thinks is gold. It's become one of the main points in this forum when they post against Clinton. Look what David Geffen said about the Clintons! If he said something horrible about Bush they would then tell him to shut up and stick to movies. Gotta love the hypocrisy.

Everyone reports what these idiots say. They have been very relevant in the past two elections. In fact, without there help I think Bush would have been defeated. Let them keep talking.
I do think the Alec Baldwin thing was unnecessary. I've gotten mad at my family and have said things I shouldn't have. To put that on the air was wrong. But it sells.

I disagree. If no one took celebrities seriously you would not see so many politicians courting them. Alec Baldwin seems to be coming unglued. He as attacked many republican politicians with vile, ugly vitriol and had equally nasty things to say about conservative talk show hosts as well as conservatives in general. We have every right to return fire.

These people use their celeb status to make outrageous political statements without knowing of which they speak. Actually, it's quite comical, if you ask me!
