In order to understand the "culture war" one must define it first! It is not an open, political battle between Democrats & Republicans, but rather a much more subtle, pervasive tug of war, between mostly radical , far Left-wing thinkers who support completely changing the American way of life to a "secular' society & traditional ,Conservatives who are proponents of securing & maintaining the Judeo-Christian values that our Country was founded on! Now the problem for most Americans is, that a lot of these radicals fly under the radar, undetected, are very wealthy, & can make things happen in the political arena by" buying votes" for the candidate of their choice....and.... by viciously smearing those that oppose their agenda. People like George Soros, a self- made millionaire who pumps millions of dollars( most of his fortune is in overseas banks to avoid US taxes) into radical causes.... he spent millions in anti-Bush ads...and Peter Lewis head of Progressive Insurance, also funnels big bucks into the left-wing think tanks! The ACLU is another extremely pervasive organization......They are a well- funded, anti-American,group that flies under the banner of " human rights" but has consistently & many times, effectively, fought every traditional value set down by our founding fathers, usually in a court of law, targeting only very left -wing judges to win their cases.. Conservatives causes, are far behind when it comes to the money these organizations have. Two things make these radical proponents dangerous, when it comes to a "culture war": 1. they have unlimited funds!!! and,2. they hate America! Now, the Dems have, for the most part, been more liberal in their beliefs, while Repubs have maintained the traditional stronghold. Most Americans should realize, however, that there are moderate Democrats as there are liberal Republicans...so you can't always tell just who the "enemy" is these days...unless...you do your homework! Most Americans are not even aware of what is really going on behind the scenes... so... who is winning the culture war? It's still going on, unfortunately.... we have a duty to vigilant & hold those in power to be responsible.

i hit upon that maximum everybody isn't sufficiently serious and aggressive whilst debating a element. The kindest and maximum polite thank you to respond to a controversy is to make up your very own. That has the unlucky results of proposing the objective audience or your readers with 2 lines of argumentation from which they might choose for... that's very vulnerable, rhetorically conversing. that's plenty greater powerful to charm to from the diagnosis of your opponent and supply a guy made argument. although, it is likewise plenty greater stable. there are various positions from the main suitable that rests upon a rationalist ideas-set or financial fashions including that of organic and suited opposition. tell me, how many human beings comprehend how those frameworks are equipped, upon which assumptions they relax or what form of epistemological positions they entail? very few... so, the debates you spot or learn are not debates. they're simultaneous monologues the place 2 or greater human beings talk their ideas with out listening to what the different has to declare -- and, interior the top, contributors of the objective audience options the only they already agreed with. all the above ability is which you're a maximum suitable-winger, not that they are particularly good at debating -- and you'll be certain my declare for the reason that my pretension is that a leftist might experience the alternative.

The influence of the so-called liberals peaked just prior to Ronald Reagan's election in 1980; it's been a slow, steady downhill slide ever since.
Wait until today's young people spend enough time in the real world to realize that they've been sold a bill of goods by their so-called teachers and many of their parents. For 25 years now they've been told how swell ALL of them are, how smart, how very capable, how they're ALL winners in the game of life.
Unfortunately, the real world has a way of lifting the scales from the eyes of even the most dim-witted of people. And, when it does, how disposed do you think they're going to be to the nonsense that the left continues to pitch? For a clue, notice how the backlash has already started.
To you liberals I say: Enjoy the twilight of your dreams - or, better yet, get to work and make something happen (something realistic this time!).

There are no culture wars. We each have our own beliefs. Not all liberals think 100% alike; neither do all conservatives. For example:
I want my guns.
I want to have the option to have an EARLY abortion if I get pregnant, but I never want to be in that position. And if I were, I probably would never have an abortion. But I want the right to choose for myself and no one else has the right to choose that for me.
I want America safe and free from terrorism; I wish the same for the rest of the world.
If it takes the US' intervention to make that happen for someone else, then OK. God gave us much--he expects much.
Oh yeah--I want to be able to pray (or not) if I so choose in public.
I pay a boat load in taxes; I want less govt intervention in business. It's called free enterprise people, but it ain't free. So let those with the cajones and the cash contribute to economic development.
I want healthcare fixed.
God knows its hard enough to find someone of the right sex to love, it must be 10X harder to find someone of the wrong sex. Let the gays alone.

It's not a war, nor should it be treated as such. In politics the goal is to act in the best national interest. I would consider myself a liberal and have believed what Reid has said since I first heard about VTech.

far left up til now but i feel the time they are a changin'. the media has been liberal for a long time and in the past 8-10 years more and more cons are coming forward to present an opposing viewpoint. a middle ground would be nice but we tend to have an all or nothing attitude.

On another front, ultra-corrupt Republicans got ousted from the majority. There's a victory for the Liberals in the Culture Wars right there.

That's a stretch...what he said was that there should not be a rush to judgement while people's emotions are out of control.....that is a pathetic piece of spin on your part.....in a poll done by polling report.com 54% of people said they would vote for a candidate who favors stricter gun laws. This just in...abortion is a much bigger issue for Republicans than it is for Democrats.

The left no longer has a monopoly on social "progress." They are being challenged, and with the increased availability of conservative media outlets the tide is turning.
