Awwww, you sound like a good big sister...

Tell your little sister that it is good to speak your mind, But only when it is appropiate. Eg. If she thinks someones new hair cut is horrible she shouldn't just go up to them and tell them. So tell her to reasonable and not hurt peoples feelings. So no it's not always good to speak your mind but make sure she does voice her opinions when it is important.
I hope this helps you and your sister.

Just like I told my little brother, it's important to stand up for what you believe in and to be yourself. I also think it's important to impress upon them that there's a way to speak your mind where people will listen and admire that in them. There's also a time and place to not say anything. Maturity helps to learn the difference of course, but it's a good point to make. Learning to agree to disagree with people a bout things is also a gift to both people. It's not always important to be right, but it;s always important to stand up for yourself, your values, beliefs and morals. You sound like a good big sister who cares. Good luck to you both.

It's important that you be able to communicate so that way you can't get yourself stuck when your looking for something to say to back up what you were trying to say and it's also important to be able to say something so that way you would have a say in what happens in the environment around you.

Tell her she has a right to speak her mind and speak freely. Also, that to do so is a great responsbility. She needs to know when to be tactful & respectful, and when to not be tactful. But she should never let anyone force her into silence because they are offended by her words. No one has a right not to be offended.
