Well, My 1998 Ford Mustang (V6 & Automatic) is on the Fritz, Basically, the little panel that tells me what gear the car is in (Park, Drive, Reverse, 1st, and 2nd) is for some reason NOT lighting up anymore. So basically when I drive at night I have to turn on the light inside the car so that I can see what I am doing. I am nearly positive that this problem is relatively easy to fix, but I need advice on where to start and what to look for. I dont think it is a fuse problem because the majority of them are brand new... but I guess nothing is beyond the realm of possibility...

First thing to do is check your fuse panel.

Actually, the first thing to do is to make sure you don't have the switch that turns on the accessories lights, just turned off.

Then Check the fuse box for the fuse for your lights to your dash board. The fuse box is typically located on the driver's side near the kick panel.

hmm suffering to get any velocity? huh, Hmm would desire to floor it to get to a minimum of sixty 5? Wow! Yup my rapid diagnosis. ok right here it is going sounds like your tranny is going out not all of it (i.e. bands would nevertheless be stable), in step with possibility shift solenoid 2 or 3? dont know for specific on the grounds which you didnt furnish plenty specs. My bro had a similar project he would floor it however the automobile would incredibly circulate, took it aside, seems the torque converter replaced into falling aside, and broken the pump, solenoids the full tranny!! So i propose taking it to the pro's and getting clinically determined. attempt Aamco (proper guarantee interior the corporation/national) So except you desire to pay extra dontcontinual it plenty in any different case youll would desire to pay for a sparkling tranny (i paid 3k! for my bro's! After he drove it like that 30 miles at sixty 5"ish mph on the expressway) As for the idling thats an entire diff project altogether, in step with possibility vacumm strains, tp sensor etc examine the air furnish and all that area. Its extra straightforward to diagnose than a tranny. purchase a CHILTONS e book and function a bypass at it. stable luck

check your fuses to see if any are blown. if not than go buy an electrical tester and start tracing the wires to see if there is a bad ground or connection. maybe the light is burned up?
