Not always, but often!
The brain actually has three different main modes, the first of which is sensory???
The second of which is executive, so you can think rationally and make decisions.
The third is ALERT mode, associated with stress, etc.
When you really need to get somewhere, you are more likely to make the dumb and slightly embarrassing mistake of hitting the gas when your light is still red, but the left turn lane has its own green.
The point is, when it comes to looking, you may not be getting the right cues at all. You're supposed to paying attention to logical things, but that all goes out of the window under stress.
So, if you're unable to calm your brain down, you may NEVER find what you're lookng for.
Until, of course, you give up. You've refused to be stressed anymore, so your brain goes back into
a more realxed mode, in which it can pay attention in both sensory and logical fashions!

While we're looking, we're too focused on finding and not looking, but once we stop trying to find, we can actually see what was probably right here the whole time!

We always find the one that we continuously look for.

But trust me there are a lot of things we can't find either, and it is not because it's not there, it's because we stop looking for it.

Sounds like you have a very good determination... Way to go!

I like to eat Chocolate. When my chocolate runs out, I get angry and want more chocolate. When I finally no longer want my chocolate, there is no more chocolate still! But many times, chocolate will come to me afterwards, but by then I'm already eat Spree candy and am not interested in the chocolate any longer. :(

I could really go for some chocolate now. I don't have any chocolate. :(

I just stopped searching for the one six years ago, because I found what I 've been looking for.

One of life's mystery kind of like a sign to tell you to stop searching and live.
