Do you think the powers that be know what's really going on? It seems like we're losing grip there daily. Any suggestions for them? Peace and thanks!

Not necessarily outsmarted, but overwhelmed certainly. Get out. It is not our business, it never was.

I wouldnt say outsmarted, I would say undermined. Too much politicing going on, and too much finger pointing that it is constricting the troops from doing their jobs. "How?" you ask. Simple. By those who wont give support, but instead focus on the past of whose fault it was. Everybody thinks Bush is to blame, thats great, think what you will, I will not argue against it. We are there, deal with it. Now instead of putting all your attention on the past and wasting time with the blame game, why not think of viable options of getting our troops home. Note, I said Viable. If we pull our troops out now Iraq will only become a bloodbath, and we would be responsible for many more deaths than we are right now. Some will say better them then us, but what do you think will happen when it becomes over-run with the fundamentalists who think the U.S. is the great devil? Hmmm its already happened before, what makes you think that if we turn a blind eye again, we wont get attacked?

This is similar to Vietnam, in that we lack the national will. This isn't a clean war like in Bosnia. There we could bomb from the air; in Iraq we need boots on the ground, this means a lot of casualties.

I don't think we have the stomach for this.

Losing what grip? The terrorists have been winning from day one!! Just stop and count up the fatalities there. I've heard about more soldiers being killed than Iraqis. Plus the soldiers were sent into a war with faulty equipment. The Terrorists have always had more ammunition than anyone else. Plus Iraqis are more than willing to strap themselves with explosives to blow everyone around them to pieces. No matter what the US, British or whoever does there is no way to stop them. The best thing the US can do is let them straighten out their own mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bush was outsmarted by Saddam when Saddam told Bush he did not have any WMDs and was later proved correct!

After that everything else was all down hill!

To be 'outsmarted' you have to be smart to start with... . So, no.
They should have thought about what to do after the predictable victory before they went in.

It's not that we are being outsmarted; it's that there are so many unknown actors with differing agendas.
