It has been that UFO & Abduction reports are down, what is the reason? What does this mean for Ufology?

Observers, believers and skeptics alike, have been commenting since 2005-6 that reports of UFO sightings and Alien Abductions are down. Indeed, the same old cases many of which occured in the 50's, 60's and 70's get rehashed over and over again. Is the phenomonen changing? Are the Aliens done with their experiments? Is this the quiet before the storm? Was it really just a government conspiracy involving human experimentation and stealth technology? Is the phenomenon even real? What are the causes for the decline in reports?

The cold war with the Soviet Bloc has ended so paranoia about things in the sky has been minimized. People are now obsessed with global warming so they have some new threat to obsess about. UFO's are just not the in thing anymore. For all the "eye witness" reports by people living in the middle of nowhere with the seemingly absence of cameras there is not one shred of evidence that they ever existed.

I would attribute the decrease in UFO reports to the general public being much more aware of new technology within the aerospace community. There is a much higher demand for information in the aerospace industry as it is begining to rely less on government funding and more on private money. Public shareholders all want a peak on what the latest and greatest is going to be, and since there is not really an immediate threat like the Cold War, companies are willing to show off a little. Thus, people are less likely to misreport a stealthy looking aircraft as a UFO, which was a major reason for many (not all) reports in the 60's and 70's.

UFO abduction reports are down because more people nowadays are turning to conventional religions to express their feelings of inadequacy and belief in mythical / supernatural higher powers. You just get a lot more community support for believing in angels and ghosts than aliens.

What does this mean for Ufology? You guys need a messiah, or at least a pope, to gin up enthusiasm for that old-time mythology. Have you considered a Sunday afternoon infomercial?

I lived in New Mexico for some years and city of Roswell caters to this craze, keeps their cities lighting fixtures going, pays their expenditures. i in my opinion have not seen a alien craft yet that would not propose they are not available. would desire to be some secret militia products being examined at evening yet who is conscious. true reason why reports are down is.. because since the times of the 40's and 50's... so on, we did come across the roswell crash site treasure and learned they're technology such as infrared night vision & fiber optics etc laser useage..etc.. and we also learned how to use their contact devices and infact have contacted and have been in contact since! it wouldn't be surprising that we trade with them aswell! so why steal and abduct when you can trade and not risk losing more technologies to those wicked selfish oppotunist earthlings!!!

People are just coming to their senses and realizing that Aliens are not visiting Earth. People are turning to other explanations for unexplained phenomena.
