I play Baseball and I only play Right Field. No balls are coming to me and I am sitting out 2 innings a game. Should I quit?

If you like baseball but are not happy about your position maybe you should get in some extra practice and improve your skills. Then you can try a new position. Work on your batting skills too. A coach will always find a place for someone who can hit.

I coach baseball, sitting out 2 innings a game is nothing! There are probably 12 to 14 kids on your team, that means 3 to 5 kids are sitting on the bench at one time. I know in my league we only have to play players 2 innings in a game.

If you like baseball. Then don't quit. If you're in a rec league, then all the kids have to play. So getting pulled out isn't a knock on you.

I'd agree with a previous post. Ask the coach what it would take to move into a more desirable position. Then work on developing the skill...

it probably helps in this regard to pick a reasonable target position (like infield, rather than SS - or don't pick pitcher if you just don't have the accuracy for it).

Same story, with me, and I stuck with it, and I was able to use all of that time working on my arm, so I was able to end my career in little leagues as an effective pitcher as well. I'm in college now, so I play on an IM (intra-mural) team, and when I'm at home, I'm an assistant manager and pitching coach in our Little League, plus, usually, the best arms in the outfield are in Right and Center fields. Also, just wait until the hitters mature more, then you'll have more action than you might want at times :)

Good luck, and never stop playing, you'll get your playing time soon.

No, because fielding is only half the game. How is your hitting? Do you like hitting? Also, ask your coach if you can try another position, or work extra hard in practice and maybe if the coach sees you improving, he may move you to a position where more balls are hit, like SS, 3B.

No, don't quit. You made a commitment to this team and you should play hard to the end of the season. When the season is over, assess the level of enjoyment of the experience and decide whether you'd sign up again next year. Please, don't be a quitter.

No, you shouldn't quit. Just wait for the ball to come to you. I'm sure you can probably hit the ball well, right?

That all depends if you can hit the ball. If you cannot hit it VERY well at that level, you are just spinning your wheels. Go take up soccer or something that can at least keep you in shape that you enjoy playing.

If you are not having fun and/or do not have a passion to play, then maybe you should find another sport or hobby. Are you playing becuase your parents are making you play? Your heart has to be in it.

If you like the game then stay, however, if you don't quite enojoy the sport, ask yourself why you joined baseball, and then you should quit.
