The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom. It is singularly the best book I ever read. It is not based on any specific religion...it is just a really neat way of looking at life both past and present.

I recommend the Anita Blake Series by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Action, Adventure, Lycans, Vampires, Zombies, minor Romance

They are all fairly easy reads, with the 15th book coming out this summer. All the books connect together, either introducing characters or increasing the background of current characters.

I would pick something by James Patterson. He tends to write very short chapters of 2 or 3 pages max. This way you are reading a 'good' book (not that what the others have given you are bad), but you also can stop right at the end of a chapter when you begin to get tired of reading.

Have a great vacation...

Maxium Ride!!!! It is intense and amazing!!! I loved them. There are two, Maxium Ride the Angel Experiment and then Maxium Ride School's out Forever! The third one should hopefully come out soon. But you should read them, they are awesome. Will keep your vacation entertaining.
Then there is Midnighters there I three but I've only read the first so far, it was really good.
So Yesterday is a good book too.
Anything by Mary Higgins Clarke is good.
Harry Potter? even if you've already read them reading them again never hurts, you find more inside stuff reading it a second time.
Ya that is about it. I suggest going to the library and just browsing.

I guess it really depends on what you like!
Chick Lit: Shopaholic & Baby by Sophie Kinsella (The fifth installment in a series that never takes itself too seriously. Fun, light reads!)
Trash Novel: The Washingtonienne: A Novel (Paperback)
by Jessica Cutler (It's racey and sassy - perfect for vacation. It's a really quick read too.)
Popular: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (A great book at any time. Perfect if you've got the time to devour it all in one sitting.)

Well, that would depend on what you like. Here's a sample of some of my favorite books.

Lord of the Two Lands about Alexander the Great by Judith Tarr.
Seduction of his wife by Janet Chapman or any of her books.
Single white vampire by Lynsay Sands or any in her vampire series (recommend reading in order)
Anything by Karen Marie Moning or, in Christine Feehan's "Dark Series"
Accidental Pope by Raymond Flynn
Chocolate chip murder by Joanna Fluke

And if you really like steamy books: go for Angela Knight,Sherrilyn Kenyon or Nina Bangs.

If you want just plain silly try Mary Janice Davidson's vampire series.

I could go on forever (librarian, here) but I'll stop at these.
