Liberal, conservatives, doesn't matter. Doesn't it seem like none of the people who get on here and just attack the other parties without presenting any logical arguements have no idea what they are talking about? I think they have just had it stamped in their brain "liberals are bad" or vice versa?
If you answer by doing exactly what I'm talking about, I will report you. This is a question, not a hate session.

zztopn, I report to attempt to end the stupidity. I know they will just come back on another account, but at least I know I am trying. Laugh if you want. I don't feel "big" when I do that, especially since it does no good, really.

My main argument is that anyone who is willing to do a bit of research and ask some difficult questions is immediately called a liberal.
The funny thing is that now being liberal is supposed to be a bad thing.
Does this not remind you of the Governments agenda, back half a century or so, to label anyone who decided to dig a little deeper a Communist.
I get the distinct feeling that in the USA you are supposed to conform within the expected (and desired) pattern or else you are a trouble maker anti-establishment type.
If this is the case then is this not the perfect scenario from which a government can take advantage?

I find that often times people will resort to the lowest form of argument, insult when they have no idea what is going on. So yes bashers are ill informed. Not to ask a question on your 5 points however to expand on the "bashers" I take particular exception to those who will not only inject and insult into an answer however, reiterate while blaming the other side, or a third partly completely not related to the scenario.

I agree I see it from both sides.
I think they each have something they know or heard and repeat it without considering the whole situation..I don't think either side even considers looking at the opposite view let alone actually doing it.
It's too bad since such charged people could probably do a lot to resolve problems if they could just look from the other side and then come up with a solution for both sides.
Our society has degenerated into a "my way only" mentality..I try not to do so but I do this at times as well.

You are 100% correct. There are very few on Y!A that can take a political idea, and have a constructive discussion about it. I have been so fed up by the people in my party doing it, I started to answer ridiculous, hate-breeding questions that they posted with scathing criticism. We are not ever going to get anywhere without cooperating with one another. A child would understand! But there we are, duking it out, making fools of ourselves, and not adding anything of substance to the political soup. We are stuck in the middle, yearning for some kind of exciting, and intelligent discourse. There are some out there, but they are also tired.

I do. Granted my opinions of the facts may not agree with everyone else's, I do research and draw my own conclusions. When answering or asking questions, I try to provide links when it is applicable. I do try to avoid all of the cut and paste page filling a lot do, that just shows they haven't read it all and drawn their own conclusions. Again, that is my opinion.
I do agree a lot of the bashers are very narrow minded. Prove me wrong, I will change my mind, none have done it yet.

The answer is "some do, some dont". But you knew that already.
THey are writing from the extremes. The truth is always in the middle and where most reasonable people reside. But by understanding the two poles better we also understand the middle better as well.

In the Bush administration "the negation of truth is so systematic. Dishonest accounting, willful scientific illiteracy, bowdlerized federal fact sheets, payola paid to putative journalists, 'news' networks run by right-wing apparatchiks, think tanks devoted to propaganda rather than thought, the purging of intelligence gatherers and experts throughout the bureaucracy whose findings might refute the party line -- this is the machinery of mendacity...The point here is not the hypocrisy involved, though that is egregious. The point is the downgrading of truth and honesty from principles with universal meaning to partisan weapons to be sheathed or drawn as necessary. No wonder the Bush administration feels no compunction to honor the truth or seek it; it conceives truth as a tactic, valuable only insofar as it is useful against one's enemies."

I know exactly what you're talking about.I've brought up recent news articles and all I get is post a link and then cussed at.It's like no one wants to read anything and get information. They want all the facts representing a certain side laid in front of them and aren't willing to look at the whole picture. It's getting tiresome.

I think there are a lot of people like this out there. I see a lot of liberal hit men on the site. They are from leftists sites and start new accounts to promote their sites that say the US is behind 9-11 and the like. They have no interest in doing anything but putting out there propaganda and reporting conservatives. I see some conservatives who just bash liberals.
I make myself available via email to fight it out with anyone. Most do not take me up on the offer.

It is a waste of typing to present logical arguments to Liberals. When you have shown their position to be flawed, they change subjects. When you again show them the error of their ways, they change subjects again. This occurs numerous times until they present their first, flawed position as a new one. Round and round with them.
It's a lot easier to just say "Liberals are whack."
