if they've allowed a cat into the fire brigade, they really are dropping the standards..
i guess it saves energy on the siren front tho, stick a cat on top of the engine, got your own little siren there.

well this is a very common pratice in wildland areas, you burn a small section around the out of control fire to contain it, This is a very effective safe way to handel it. So if you fight fire with fire, if you are not careful and smart you can get burned, but accomplish a what you want. WIth less over all damage

Actually they do set smaller controlled fires around larger fires to help keep it contained.
