I'm an anesthesiologist. Anesthesia has become very safe, but there are NO guarantees in medicine.
To give yourself the best chance of doing well, make sure that you are cared for by a Board Certified anesthesiologist. Sometimes we work in "care teams", where a nurse anesthetist and an anesthesiologist work together, and that is safe too.
There are some surgeons who, in an effort to save money, hire nurses to give anesthesia without a supervising doctor. I left a place that did that, because I could not be associated with a facility that had dangerous practices going on (the nurse would leave the patient on the ventilator and go out and make a phone call)
If you have the surgery done in a hospital, you'll be fine. Hospitals have rules that protect patients. If you are planning on having that done in a surgeon's private OR, ASK QUESTIONS about the anesthesia, and ask to talk to whomever will be caring for you anesthesia-wise.
Those are two big surgeries (3-5 hours each) and I would recommend not doing them together. The risk of complications will be less. (especially the risk of blood clots going to the lungs, which can be fatal)
Find yourself a Board Certified plastic surgeon and communicate your concerns to him/her.
Good luck with your surgery.

I am sure that you will be fine, just by reading the answer above mine should be reassuring enough.
I had a Breast Reduction last week, I was under for 2 hours and when I woke up it felt like I had just had the best sleep of my life!!! I was only in recovery for 20 minutes- only awake for 5 minutes before I was taken back to my room and I had no pain after my surgery. I was on such a high for about 4 days. But whilst I was in the hospital and immediately following surgery there was no pain, just discomfort.
Good luck :)

Nothing is certain. However, anesthesia isn't so bad. The thing I like is that the operation seems instant to you if you're put under. Your eyes close then seemingly open right back up but you're done. I just don't know why my pants are always down during such operations. Doctor tells me it's normal. J/k!
Usually the people that have major health problems are the ones that need to worry about not waking up. Of course, if they have major health problems, then that's their concern whether or not they get anesthesia.

No, but generally it is safe or doctors wouldn't use it. Anyone at anytime can have a reaction to anesthesia or they could be given too much and it will sedate them to the point that their breathing slows/stops and their heart stops. While the risks are rare, it's good to talk to your doctor about your fears. Also talk with your doctor to see if these cosmetic procedures are necessary for your health and/or well being. I would be more concerned with the amount of recovery time and possible chance of botched surgeries than I would the actual anesthesia. If you do decide to go for it, please see a good, experienced surgeon even if it costs more.

Tummy tuck and breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her Tummy tuck, Liposuction surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

One of the most dangerous aspects of any surgical procedure is the anesthesia. It is always a risk. My dentist had a stroke because of it. The patient has to sign a release first and there is a good reason for that. That's why I will never have elective surgery.

People do not always wake up.
There is one person always monitoring your vitals throughout the surgery. They do the best they can to ensure you wake up after surgery.
There is always a risk with surgery.
Make sure you talk to several plastic surgeons before choosing the one you want.

Well I can't speak for all, but I woke up after my breast reduction. It took about 3 hours for mine, so I was under for awhile. And after I woke up, I was wishing they would put me back under!!! I hurt sooo bad. I love anesthesia, myself.
