The Chevrolet Monte Carlo was introduced to the public in the fall of 1969 as a 1970 model, so the first year they were made was 1969. I'm sure some prototypes were built in 1968 or earlier as test cars but these were not made to be sold. For all things 70-72 Monte Carlo, come visit us.

1970! It had a limited paint pallete but could be loaded with multiple engine/trans and accessorie options. This car was the closest to a Corvette in a steel,2-door hardtop body. My '70 came with the exclusive maroon paint(other than the 'vette) with tinted glass and a.c. She had a 300hp. 350 with auto,p.s. and p.b.'s.The black cloth interior was highlighted with rich wood accents on the dash. My bench seat/tilt columb combo was the beggining of many children. Once you do 130mph. in a 6 seater-things get very interesting.Radial tires,on the stock sport rims,made this car a pleasure to drive. Chevy built the best car that year-the Monte Carlo!

1970. Is the answer to that question. I currently own a restored "mc" This is also the most sought out year of them as well. They were powered with a 454 big block, had a swival captains chair as an option. Beautiful car.

i own a shop and it came out in 1970 ,they had two versions of it, the small block version,and the big block version,they was nice though,good luck.
