We have three gopher holes in our yard, two of which have been active in the last year., the other was recently dicovered. Anyways, I want to get some pictures of them, or just see them in general, so I was thinking about throwing out some produce to bate one or two out.

Two big questions. Is this legal? They're protected, so is it okay to feed them at all?

And

What kind of produce? Carrots, celery, cabage, what?

Anyways, thank you for your time.

No, it's not legal, they're protected. Just be patient and watch them, take pics, it's not like they go very fast, you just have to figure out when they're most likely to be cruising your yard.

no you should leave them alone, feel free to look at them and take pictures but do not feed them. They will become dependant on you for food, and if you go away they may not know what to do.
