my mother bought goldfish that now I'm stuck taking care of, these are not worth more than $2 so I'm not going to spend money on fish food, what foods can I feed them from home?
I've tried peices of letteuce, and crushed cerial, but they're not too interested in that.

Take the fish to a pet store and give them away. A can of fish food is cheap and goldfish will eat the foods you mention if you try. Obviously you aren't interested in keeping fish, so don't. It's as simple as that.

Go buy a 99 cent can of gold fish food. Do not give them much or the water will get cloudy. Pellets are better than flakes, but a little more expensive. If that won't work for you just give them away and tell your mom you just didn't have the time or space for them.

you guys are being silly k really ?R you trying to keep these guys alive without fish food lol thats funny fish food is inexspenive ok but they are not human so they wont eat alot of human food but they do need fish food to survive but one thing they do like is oranges but dont give them alot its great vitamin c or get them some plants at the pet store not ceral or lettcue your just making a mess of your tank or fish bowl silly stop are you trying to kill them then just dont feed them or give them to the pet store they have a special diet its like just feeding you catfood and dog food everyday you see go get some fish food

You should feed them goldfish food. You can get a small can from walmart for under 2.00. If they don't eat they will die. Putting cereal, etc. in their water is going to make the water gross and you will have to change it soon.

you need to get fish food. hahaha you can't just feed them cereal. if you don't want them take the fish back to the store.
