Midas Touch Greek Band

Its about Phrygian peasants who found Dionysus'(Dionysus, Greek name and Bacchus, Roman name) old schoolmaster and foster father, the satyr Silenus passed out for drinking to much. They carried him to their king, Midas, who recognized him and treated him hospitably, entertaining him for ten days and nights with politeness, while Silenus delighted Midas and his friends with stories and songs. On the eleventh day, he brought Silenus back to Dionysus in Lydia. Dionysus offered Midas his choice of whatever reward he wished for. Midas asked that whatever he might touch should be changed into gold. Midas rejoiced in his new power, which he hastened to put to the test. He touched an oak twig and a stone in which both turned to gold. Overjoyed, as soon as he got home, he ordered the servants to set a feast on the table. The moment he touch his food, it turn to gold and the same thing with his wine. In a different version,Midas found that when he touched his daughter, she turned into a statue as well. Now, Midas hated the gift he had and prayed to Dionysus, begging to take away the gift. Dionysus heard his cry and told Midas to wash in the river Pactolus. Midas did so, and when he touched the waters, the power flowed into the river, and the river sands turned into gold. The Greek Myth teach us that you shouldn't let Greed or Priceless Things overcome you or bad thing will happen to you in the near future.

Here are a few:

"Goldfinger," by Shirley Bassey (Even has the phrase "midas touch" in it!)

"Ride Wit Me" by Nelly (trust me, it matches up, sort of)

"I Wanna Be Rich" by some 80s band

"If I Were a Rich Man," from Fiddler on the Roof

It's funny, but there was a 1935 version of King Midas, a Disney cartoon, I think, and it had this song:

[Singing] I'm known as Rich King Midas / And when you look at me / You'll see a king / Who knows a thing / About his treasury / I never cared for women / I've never cared for wine / But when I count / A large amount / Of money - Ha ha! - It's divine / Gold, gold, gold! / I worship it, I love it / Gold, gold, gold! / I wish I had more of it / My love for shining gold is such / That I could never have too much / I wish that everything I touched / Would turn to gold, gold gold!

If you're looking for something more along the lines of popular music, try "Heart of Gold" by Neil Young, "Golden Touch" by Razorlight, "Hey, Rich King Midas" by Jack Chernos (http://unionsong.com/u285.html), "Golden Dream" (a Disney song-- http://www.disneylandreport.com/Disney-Lyrics/just-one-dream-lyrics-dca.html), or, my personal favorite, "Something Worth Leaving Behind" by Lee Ann Womack. In fact, I'll include the lyrics:

Hey Mona Lisa, who was Leonardo?
Was he Andy Warhol? Were you Marylyn Monroe?
He Mozart, what kind of name is Amadeus?
It's kinda like Elvis, you gotta die to be famous.

I may not go down in history. I just want someone to remember me.

I'll probably never hold a brush that paints a masterpiece. I'll probably never find a pen that writes a symphony. But if I will love, then I will find that I have touched another life and that's something, something worth leaving behind.

Hey Midas, they say you had the magic touch, but even all that shiny stuff, some day's gonna turn to dust.
Hey Jesus, it must have been some Sunday mornin', in a blaze of glory, we're still telling your story.

I may not go down in history. I just want someone to remember me.

I'll probably never dream a dream and watch it turn to gold. I know I'll never lose my life to save another soul. But if I will love, then I will find that I have touched another life and that's something, something worth leaving behind.

{Instrumental Break}

Hey baby, see the future that we're building? Our love lives on, in the lives of our children.

And that's something, something worth leaving behind.

Peace be with you.

I personally like the song from Austin Powers 3 'Gold Member':

He's got the Midas touch,
But he touched too much,
He's Goldmember...
He's Goldmember...

classic!

First, this is not a question. Next, what is a "toch"? And then, what is "mach"?
