The saying should really go "Time makes it easier to deal."

Usually, yes.

There are some situations that time does not heal, but only covers over, and if you should decide to look below the covering, it would be as painful as the day it happened. (whatever that may have been) If, after a number of months/years you look at "it" and it still hurts, then move on, and never look at "it" again.

As time goes on, the thoughts on a particular subject are pondered to the point where they almost become meaningless. On a small scale, let's say you look at a phrase over and over again, after you see it so many times it becomes meaningless. The same thing happens to our brains.

I think it depends upon the "wound." If it's something powerfully emotional, the longer it takes: the sudden death of my father took several years to overcome with me finally coming to terms with it a good 12-13 years afterward. It's still painful but not in the "heart-wrenching" manner it once was. I can think of him now and tears don't automatically fall like they used to.

It can.
But, there are some things that will never heal. They might lessen somewhat, but they will always be there.

Yes, it does. Even if things look bad right now, the sun will shine on you again. I've experienced that myself. You will probably never forget, though!

Time consigns all of life's experiences, good or bad, pleasure or pain, first to memory, and then to oblivion.
