I HATE pubic hair. I've been shaving mine since I was given a razor. It's been a lot harder since I've gotten pregnant, so I would suggest practicing a few times before the big day.

The last thing you want is to be covered in cuts for delivery. The area will see enough trauma. Also, when you first start shaving, it is very itchy down there when the hair starts coming back in, so it's best to get that out of the way before you have to also worry about possible stitches and other recovery issues.

No it wouldn't be gross to not shave. The doctors and nurses know that pubic hair is a very natural thing that grows on a woman (not to mention it's hard to shave down there...you can't even see it!). In fact, I think it's good not to shave. You can get little nicks and cuts (especially because you can't see!) which could get infected.

I'm not really messing with mine. The doctors are medical professionals. They don't care whether you have pubic hair or not.

Procedures change with the times. When I went to the hospital to give birth to my children, the nurses did the "prepping" which included shaving the pubic hair. Hope this answers your question.

Wish you the best of luck and happiness with your newborn.

I highly doubt that the nurse is going to be whispering to the doctor about your pubies while you're giving birth.

But I actually used to wonder about that too. If you want to, go ahead. But I would really suggest just not to care what other people think.

its not gross if you don't because its a natural process. but its up to you. i do, and plan on it soon. i am 33 weeks. but my hubby does it for me since i could barely see in the first place, now i really cant see!!! but i dont think the doctors going to think twice about it. especially if he's experienced, he's probably seen all types already. shaved, hairy, clean, dirty. lol.... its their job. good luck. dont sweat it.

Not unless you want to, it is purely your choice... Women have been not shaved and giving birth for 100's of years. There is no "medical" reason why you would need to shave, it is purely for looks and trust me, you arent going to care at that point if it is shaved or not...lol
good luck!

No, it's more likely to introduce infection from nicks or cuts.

They once used to do this prior to deliveries, but the practice was abandoned due to its non-necessity and inherent additional risk.

That is your choice some women get so big that they cannot reach. I don't think the dr. is really gonna care about that at the time however do what you feel comfortable with. I did!

I don't think it makes a difference they are going to swab you down anyway. I wax my downstairs on the regular though (personal preference). You can always do one of those maternity spa days and get a massage and wax package!
