...you seem adament upon finding "Roots" on-line for viewing; however, you might want to be aware that, on May 22nd, Warner Home Video IS releasing, or rather re-releasing "Roots" in a four-disc commemorative edition (hard to believe that it's been thirty years!!!), with all the bells and whistles, as far as commentaries, documentaries, and the lot.
No word on whether or not the follow-up mini-series, "Roots: The Next Generation" is destined to see release on DVD (has only seen release on VHS tape, thus far).

Don't know where you can download it from but i brought it for Christmas it comes in a 3 disc box set i only paid £34.99 for it thought that was a steal.
