Red and green
As for the traffic lights, being colour blind is not the problem. The lights are always in the same order so that everybody (colour blind or not) know when they must stop. The red light is the topmost one, and the green light is the one at the bottom.

Why is everyone saying red and green. There opposite colours. My partner went for a test in the fire force and one of the things he failed on was the colour blind thing. He can't tell the bloody difference between purple and blue!
If this many people have a problem between red and green what the hell do they do at the traffic lights when driving!!!

There is not a definitive answer for what colour people who are colour blind cant see properly, it depends on how colour blind they are and the shape and size of their eyes.
I am female and am colour blind , my sister is colour blind, my older cousin is colour blind and my grandfather was colour blind. Out of the four of us not one of us had the same degree of colour blindness, because we are all different and our brains interpret images in different ways.
Personally I cant see shades what may be orange to you is red to me, what is lavender to you is purple to me. My worse colour is shades of blues.
However my sister is completely different, so it depends on the person.

Green and red,
that's why people who are colour blind are not supposed to drive.

Red and green are the two most commonly confused colors in color-blindness. About 99% of color blindness is red-green colorblindness. This is because the DNA sequences of the red and green receptor genes are so similar.

Red and Green! Kinda makes ya a little nervous driving doesn't. When I was a kid my Aunt was color blind and the only way she could read the stop light was to look to see what light was lite. Top, middle or bottom. Trust me driving with her was always a trip. You learned very young to be a back seat driver. She also liked to look at you when see talked to you, while she was driving. Ya....aaaaaa!

Red and Green!
The two colours which normal people have no difficulty seeing, are the ones color-blind people cannot differentiate.

My friend is color blind and he always gets dark brown (like the UPS color) and green mixed up. He also gets lavendar and yellow switched as well as light blue and light green. (Okay...he's just awful w/ pastels).
My ex boyfriend used to get reds and greens mixed up all the time as well as greys and blues.
I don't know which is the most frequent. I'd think it has to be darker colors like navy, green and brown.

Cutie is right, by the way. It's red and green.
People with red/green colorblindness have the most common form, and they often have trouble with brown, which is a mixture of red and green, as well.

Yes it is red and green.
And did you know bulls have a condition similar to color blindness? They see black, white and red is believed.
