There really is an overwhelming number of idiomatic expressions in English! I admire anyone trying to learn English as a foreign language!
On the tip of my tongue is correct. And to suppress one's feelings could be, to deny one's feelings or to stifle (or more informally, to stuff) one's feelings or to bury one's feelings.
And as others have said, to bottle up one's feelings is another expression that could be used.

First of all yes it is to say that Suppress ones feelings is to "screw" up ones feelings, and you do say at the tip of my tongue not the top.
