I was at the store using my vouchers once and this lady turns in her tracks and says that is pathetic using all my tax dollars when you are too young to be pregnant in the first place. Me being very mad and hormonal spun around and replied....
Where do you work? Judging by your fat butt you must work at a desk. I work long 40-50 hours a week at a reasturant on my swollen tired 8 month pregnant feet. I have to deal with picky eaters who want this and that and other bull on their sandwich. Not too mention I get yelled at because they are so hungry they can't wait 5 minutes to get their sandwich when I have done been there over 8 hours without a break much less a drink. Oh and I am in college and I was married before I got pregnant and I work two jobs. I have every right to be a mother and every right to use a little assistance from the goverment, I pay taxes too. Oh yeah and I file single not married so you know they are taxing the hell out of me. (done this to pay get back more to pay for what was left on my college and buy for my baby at income tax time) Now I have you basically calling me trash because I need a little help. GO GET BENT.
She looked at me and said I didn't know that some people actually work. I am so sorry. I think I sat her straight.
I don't judge any one who needs help.
It does bother me too when I see them buying smokes and they use tax dollars but at least their kids are being fed for sure and their habit isn't making the kids go hungry.

Why?? You shouldn't, I've known married couples and single parents that use it. It's for your child and it's a guaranteed way to make sure your child and you get what you need. I know people that work that qualify for it, I was one of them. I only got on it while I was pregnant so it wouldn't be so difficult to get on it once my daughter was born and I was working full time. WIC is a lot different then getting food stamps or cash assistance and the same goes for WIC like it does those other programs as long as you're not abusing it or the system why not get the help while you can and until you start work and provide for your own. Plus you shouldn't care what others think!! Good Luck!!

No, you can actually have a pretty high income to still qualify for WIC, all the mothers I know here on on WIC and some of their husbands are pretty high up in ranking so I know they make decent money. WIC used to not even have income limits, those were just introduced in the last 20 years or so. Who cares, you are getting essential stuff for your children and they make sure they are growing right as well. Anyone who would care does not know the difference between WIC and welfare and if they are that ignorant, who cares what they think anyway.

I was a stay at home mom. I had to quit breastfeeding (my daughter had some feeding issues) and the first time I really had to struggle to buy formula I went out and applied for WIC. We qualified for that but not for food stamps. I was unemployed at the time, but my husband was not and I didn't want to have a job that would just cover the day care when I could stay home with my daughter so I was not unemployed because I was lazy, but because I chose to be home with my daughter. Don't feel ashamed to use WIC. Your child's health is the most important thing and people who will judge you for that are not worth your time.

I dont think less of anyone on WIC. Its a great program. We are on it here, my husband works and I go to college so we dont have that much extra cash. My son's formula is $23.49-27.99 a can. (Nutramigin). About 45% of parents use WIC at some time in there life.
I look at it this way, why should you care what others think of you. I work part time, and my husband works full time and we pay taxes. Where do you think some of the funding comes from for WIC. I know some people abuse the system, but if you know your not one of them then don't worry.

No, I do not judge people whatsoever who are on WIC. When I was married to my first husband he was in the Air Force and we were on WIC. The reason we were on WIC was because he was being deployed so much (during Desert Storm) and I already had a child, so I didnt work so I could be home with her while I was pregnant. So if anyone judged me becuase I was trying to be a good mom while my husband served his country, that is just sad. I dont think that it is fair to judge people if you have no idea what their situations are.

I do not think less of anyone who actually needs the help. I am on WIC for my daughter who was born with a cleft lip/palate. It has been a life saver, as we have major financial difficulties, I am unable to work due to a chronic condition (am on medical assistance). For people who really need it, it's a Godsend.
There are people who abuse the system, and they are the ones I think little of.

I felt the same way at first but if it is all that you can do to
feed your kids or get them milk or juice then don't worry about
it. Its not like your going to be on wic for the rest of your life.
Pay the other people no mind. Its what you pay your taxes
for your just getting some of that money back.

no, and you shouldnt give a flying f*c* what people say or think about you. i lost my job basically because i was pregnant. i tried to find another, but its hard because your a liablity. but i have WIC and medicaid, and the bridge card. and anyone who has a problem can go jump off a bridge. i think some people probably abuse the system, and thats why its hard for some people to get assistance, but as long as you need it, who cares. formula is expensive!!! i didnt want to get assistance at first, but i couldnt afford to go to the doctors, or buy groceries after i lost my job. so you gotta do what you gotta do!!

No, I do not think less of people who use WIC. It is in place to take care of women, infants and children who are in need. If you are in need and you qualify for WIC you should not be ashamed or embarrassed. Keep your head up and don't worry about what others think.
