If we all go by stats then it would be Azharuddin or Ganguly for the success rate but best captain has to do with the way he leads from the front and takes right decision and not go back on the backfoot. A person who has confidence in the bowler, making fielding changes. I really doubt if we had one such the major reason for that is the way Cricket is run by Administrators in India not giving Captain a free mind.
