Is there a difference in your thinking if you think with your Eyes Open compared to when Closed?

Question

for myself, I think I can think things clearer with images when i close my eyes.

What is the difference ? If you can describe it

i am wondering if thinking patterns could be more stable if eyes are closed when thinking hard. your answer can help :) thanks!

Guess what, you think better when your eyes are closed! Do you want to know why :o?
Because when you close your eyes you can concentrate more because you are using one less sense(sight) than you would when your eyes are open. You also use less energy trying to concentrate.
Did you know that deaf people have better hearing and feeling senses. This is because they use no energy trying to see which provides extra concentration for other senses so that you can survive in life.
Why do you think meditation is taken by many stressed people or to relax. Because it allows them to concentrate on their breathing and nothing else especially on wot they see. Most people tend to think about what they see and not wot they should really be thinking about.
For example, many students tend to look out a window rather than reading from a book they are suppose to read, as many of my studies show.

in my particular case, no. I have to have eyes open, but then, I work in electronics. Unless I have the circuit memorized, I can't see current flow unless I'm looking at the schematic. Now, when I'm helping troubleshoot over the phone with a customer, very often I close my eyes to visualize the parts/layout and where I should direct the customer. It makes that part of the job so much easier.

Yes, at least I think there is, because when my eyes are open I can easily get distracted by the things I see around me, when my eyes are closed I am tuned out to everything but what I am thinking about.

I think more clearly with my eyes shut too.

I put it down to removing visual distractions. Sometimes it even seems like you block out sounds better when you're eyes are closed and you're concentrating on something.

It really doesn't matter whether you close your eyes or leave them open when your thinking. What really matters is that if you change the way you think things start to change.

With your eyes closed you can internalize a problem better...you have no outside stimuli to distract the thought process.

Likewise. I find it kinda hard to concentrate with my eyes open. Specially if I see something that might distract me. Peace!

yes Eric think with your eyes closed that way you will have no visual interruptions........... and your mind will only be focused on what your thinking inside your head.......... hopefully bringing you answers that you were searching for more positively.
