answer i came up with is

Not quite...
(4x - 9)(3x - 5)
= (4x)(3x) + (-5)(4x) + (-9)(3x) + (-9)(-5)
= 12x^2 - 20x - 27x + 45

The second term is missing an x (typo?).

The last term should be positive. (-9)(-5) = +45

(4x-9)(3x-5)
12x^2-20x-27x+45=
12x^2-47x+45

You made the mistake on last number. When you multiply a negative with a negative, the number ends up being a positive.

well i dont know if its almost right. 12x^2 - 20x - 27x + 45. remember a negative times a negative = a positive, and 4x * -5 = - 20x. the x's can be grouped together so your final answer is 12x^2 - 47x + 45

4x * 3x = 12x^2
4x * -5 = -20x

-9 * 3x = -27x
-9 * -5 = 45

12x^2 - 20x -27x + 45 = 12x^2 - 47x + 45

4x * 3x=12x^2

4x* -5=-20x

-9 * 3x=-27x

-9 * -5=45 ( negative * negative= positive)

answer is 12x^2-47x+45

well lets see.
(4x-9)(3x-5)
4x*3x-4x*5-9*3x-(9*-5)
12x(squared)-20x-27x+45
12x(squared)-47x+45

so, yes/no. yes you did the correct FOIL method, but you didnt do the multiplcation correctly, like 12x*2 you had is 12x squarred, or 12x*x. also its positive 45, because minus a negitive equals plus a positive. plus you didnt simplify. but its okay, you are getting there.
are you in algebra? thats what im in.

close. its 12x^2-20x-27x+45 or 12x^2-47x+45. remember a negative times a negative is a positive.

(4x - 9) (3x - 5)

Should be
12x² -20x -27x + 45

You are on the right track!
Don't forget the x in both of the middle terms.
For the last term, negative*negative = positive, so add the constant at the end.

no you did it wrong.....it should be
12x^2 - 20x - 27x - 45. you just forgot to multiply the x through when you multiplied the -9 and the 3x

no, it should be..

12x^2 - 20x - 27x + 45
= 12x^2 - 47x + 45
