Because they only have major cities or population centers, and although Maine is gorgeous and definitely unique, it doesn't qualify as a major city or population center. I think the point is to pick the closest category to where you are, which would be Boston in the case of Maine.

Well, it's listed mostly by populated cities. So, Maine does not have any cities with enough cause for a category I guess. You could post either under Boston, as the closest big city, or General United States, since that is for other cities not specifially listed.

I think the problem is that not many people live there. In addition the ground is frozen most of the year, except when it turns to mud, or on that nice day which is summer, so that discourages visitors.
