Well, I AM the secretary, and I must say that sometimes it can get irritating when the phone rings off the hook, while I'm trying to get other stuff done, but it is the job description. If I got super ittitated by the phone, that wouldn't make me a very good receptionist, would it? I used to know a woman who was a secretary and she'd get all P.O.'d when the phone rang during a project she was working on, and she was also really mean and everyone was sort of afraid of her. I aspire to be the exact opposite of her. :)

I would think that it's her job to deal with people calling all day, unless she's too busy processing paper work and it's the job of the receptionist to answer the phnoe.

Can't speak from personal experience as I'm a retired nurse and never had a secretary.

then she shouldnt b a secretary! im sure she knew it was in her job description to answer phones....

Yes but that's her job to answer the calls and handle them for me.
