By untying the hands of our Military. Ridiculous "Rules of Engagement" allow our enemies to inflict far too much damage on our troops. They should be allowed to use any and all force available to them so that we may achieve an undeniable defeat of this enemy and break their will to the point that they don't even attempt further attacks on us or their own people for fear of retribution.
Victory must be decisive, complete and overwhelming to the enemy. Hiroshima ring a bell with anyone?

You revamp the ROE so that if needed our soldiers can hunt these terrorist down regadless of where they are, such as mosques, holy sites and such. The political correctness must leave the battlefield. In 1 month the terrorists would be decimated and then a politcal soultion from the Iraq/Afgan government could go forward. We must create an environment in which their governments and military can gain a strong foothold and base. Elsewhere in the world, like Africa we are currenly working with countries to make a foothold in areas where terrorist have had an interest and we are in there before the terrorist try to establish. This has been extremely succesful and serves as a model.
I served in I raq and I am far from a warmonger. Saying such things just divides. Not a bad question but it is asked with hate and you will get hate in return. I am a realist and a moderate. I understand what it will take to win this war. It will be very ugly and if you are expecting a war to be clean and nice you are living in a dream world. I suggest you serve you country in some fashion (military, Red Cross, Peace Corps). You will learn alot about who the world actually works and how good and evil are out there. Good luck!!

It's easy. Get the politicians out of the war business, and let the soldiers do their jobs. Trust the commanders on the ground to complete a mission without having some "civilian" tell them what they can or can't do. Worry less about collateral damage and more about good intelligence. The bad guys can run and hide but if we know where they are running to they will never be safe. Their choices become very clear... quit or die. Combatants and martyrs are two different breeds. We can hunt, track and kill combatants, but the martyrs will need the intel to be beaten before they can blow themselves up like the cowards that they are and take women and children with them.

There is no such thing as "winning" a war any more, Vietnam being the classic example. We do have a serious problem though when a fanatic religious sect, now 40% of the world population, threatens to destroy our entire population and political infrastructure, and are willing to commit suicide in the process. I'd personally rather fight than kneel... and chant..
You?

I'm curious why you refer to people who care about the security and future of the USA as Warmongers! The only real choice other than bury your head and hope they go away (real smart) is to meet them head on. The politicians will lose this unless they step aside and let our military finish it quickly!!

In one way we have won, the Iraqii people are free of that tyrant Hussein and his killing machine! Just because we are at war does NOT make us warmongers....your congress voted for this war!!! The President cannot willy nilly declare war himself and it would be good to remember this!

By setting up a stable government and training the Iraqi military to protect and police their own country, so that no crazed dictator can take control again and wreak havoc by killing and torturing thousands of innocents. We are not war mongers, we just know you have to sacrifice for what's important. People like you will never understand that.
