I don't think there wil be a civil war in the US in the same way it was in the 1800's. I don't think that there would be the massive violence and killings. Let's hope that never happens again to this country.
We could say there is a different kind of civil war, It takes the form of issues. It's in our political system with red states vs blue states or in race relations and immigration reform in this country.

No, the last one seems to have settled the question of whether a state can withdraw from the union. Many Southerners felt that the original thirteen colonies had formed a union which a state could withdraw from. The North felt that the formation of a "united states" was not something that anyone could withdraw from.

Quebec considered leaving Canada, which is a federation of provinces. They voted on it and decided not to attempt it when investors began withdrawing investments in Quebec, feeling that a province going on it's own would be unstable economically.

I don't believe that any US state would feel that it's sensible to try to go it on it's own. Besides that, all of the states are made up of a mixture of people who are native and people who've moved from other states. It's not like Eastern Europe where people have a strong ethnic identity with a small local area. Most of us in the US live in one state, were born in another, have parents born in yet other states, etc.

No. I think they will just sign a piece of paper some day and dissolve it, like the old USSR did. It can be done peacefully. I don't think the South will ever be satisfied without ramming conservative religious laws down everybody else's throats, and nobody with an IQ over 80 wants that, so the country needs to dissolve. Peacefully. The South should have been allowed to secede, its always been nothing but a drag financially, culturally, intellectually, on the rest of us. Let em go back to the Dark Ages if they want, but not take the rest of us with them. Just sign a piece of paper, get it over with, peacefully, because the country just is not working any more.

i don't think of so, a minimum of not excellent now. This usa and all of us in it would be very silly to flow into yet another conflict we will not have adequate money. There are not any jobs now. You deliver actual all of us to conflict, the deficit will strengthen to component to actual no return. A conflict will sparkling up actual not something for this reason. no remember who's in the White living house, you will possibly have people who isn't happy no remember what the end result may be. we live in a usa of spoiled brats. If the government or others do not do what we choose them to do, then we initiate kicking and screaming. it's time to be adults and take care of our problems like the adults we are meant to be.

There will always be in-fighting, but with the unstable situation in the world already, no part of America can afford to fall into civil war.

no...
who would it be between?

Couldn't be political parties, because dems don't believe in war or having guns. Couldn't be a race war cause the gov't controls the military and would quickly destroy any rebellion. That leaves no options.

It wouldn't surprise me. My dad has already told me that he and his buddy's will storm the gate at Washington if he doesn't get his Soc. Sec. I don't blame him. That's what it's about/ You gotta fight for your rights. Even in a country that is "free". Don't get me wrong I know I have it a lot better then most people. But this country has it's problems, too.
