you should explain it to them as soon as they ask if they are young you could say something like they are big bullies and like to take things and be mean just like a bullie but on a bigger scale MY mom always said( kismif) that means keep it simple make it fun you don't need a lot of gore just simple

It's a security issue, so you could explain it the same way you explain to them that they shouldn't talk to or accept things from strangers. It also ties into the identification systems parents are using today to protect their children from abduction. It also is related to the things members of your community, including parents, are doing to be ready in the case of a terrorist attack. So, if you're involved in security related events in your community, that also would probably be a good opportunity to explain what you're doing to your children. It's probably a good idea to not scare the kids when you explain that there are "bad" people out there that want to hurt you and them. Explain also that there's a good chance nothing bad will happen, and that its just a really good idea to be ready if something should happen. That way, they'll know enough not to be too worried. As they grow older, and begin to ask questions about things like war, and the "bad people" you told them about earlier, you can explain that you and other grown-ups are there to protect them. You can also explain different things about outside threats according to their age and how quickly they learn things.

There's nothing to warn them about, since there's nothing you or they can do about it in your daily life.

You should just let your kid help you with the things you can do, so that they seem natural to him or her. That is, when you go to home depot to get your emergency supplies, and when you give your generator a tune-up, let your kid help. If you aren't doing those things now, then what good is warning him about it?

If you want to explain terrorism to your kid, you just tell him that terrorism is when people use violence to achieve a political end. In order to understand what "politics" is, the kid probably has to be at least 10 or 12. Before that, he probably can't fathom the difference between regular violence and terrorism.

I would tell them that some people are so sure that they're right, they think it's okay to hurt people who don't agree with them. I'd tell them that it's not right to hurt people just because you don't agree with them. I think that's simple enough for a four year old.

I wouldn't explain terrorism until the child is old enough to ask about it. In general, I believe in answering questions honestly, as they come up and give information appropriate to their age and understanding level.

It's also important to reassure the child that their parents will do everything they can to protect the child from harm. Many questions are brought up because a child is fearful.

teach them to love other despite their race and color . Tell them that no one in the world have the right to kill someone .I think this is enough to keep them a way from these evil things . Terrorism are sick ppl and they did not belong to a certain country or religion.

I only told mind about it last year, as they'd seen images of the 9/11 attacks.
