56 people and they are from Delaware,Pennsylvania,Massachusetts,New Hampshire,Rhode Island,New York,Georgia,Virginia, North and South Carolina,Connecticut,New Jersey and Maryland. Hmm..The Declaration of Independence interesting.

I do believe there was 56 delegates who signed the Declaration of Independence.

56 delegates signed, but not all of them signed in Philadelphia. Most of the delegates signed it on August 2, 1776, but some delegates were not present and had to sign later. Two delegates never did sign. As new delegates joined the congress, they were also allowed to sign.
