A very interesting woman she was of Irish decent and married a soldier middle ranks I think so she spent time in Balinesia . She had a horendous marriage and it dissoved or if you prefer divorce which rather left Magauritte to her qwn devises .
She came back to Europe and decided to do exotic Balinese Style Dancing . Her glamourous life became embrioled during the 1st world war .she had many lovers on all sides French german and italian russian . She was suspected of carrying secrets However this may have been a hoax as France needed to prove at this time that they had ggod secruity also thae man in charge of securite was a Mysoginist , a trumped up charge was upheld and well past her youth she did not cut such a glamourous figure before the firing squad .
A number of films have been made about her . One with Jeanne Moreau and the most famous starring Greta Garbo

she was executed in France in 1917 on suspicion of being a German agent during World War I.
i think she had some sort of radio show in Paris that was transmitted to allied forces and it was alleged that she was using this to send coded messages to the Germans

She was executed as a spy. She was Dutch really, but she took an Indonesian name and danced. It sounds as if she was dumb and played the wrong games.
