a flux capacitor is from the movie back to the future. emmitt (doc) brown created it in nov of like the fifties after falling in the bathroom and hitting his head. it looks like a Y and it is what makes time travel possible. it was installed in the delorean in 1984 and michael j fox (marty) accidentally went to the past after trying to escape the bad guys.
