Whatever you do don't scratch! Put some lotion like gold balm or something with cocoa butter in it. I was pregnant with twins then another and never got stretch marks, then with my last I did. I only got a couple but even if you didn't before, you can this time and scratching will make it worse. Good luck and congrats!

Ok, first off, yes this is normal. Second of all, I would NOT use the Palmer's cocoa butter for stretch marks. IT DOES NOT WORK. I would say use 100% natural almond or vitamin E oil. I spoke with a skin specialist about this and she said the natural oils work better than anything. Also, sratching DOES NOT cause stretch marks. The itching is caused by your skins fibers tearing, but doesn't always indicate new stretch marks. My belly has been itchy all over my entire pregnancy and I did get a few stretch marks, however its not even close to where I had been itching. So, just use the oil as often as possible and this should help to avoid stretch marks!!

Yes! When I was pregnant with my daughter I itched like crazy. It is your skin trying to expand to make room. It is stretching. What you can do is try cocoa butter and rub it on your belly at least once a day. Try to make your skin as supple as possible and it should take care of the itching part. Some people's skin is just different, some will get stretch marks and some won't.
You are so lucky to not have gotten stretch marks with your previous children!! I didn't put lotions or anything on, I just itched and mine are everywhere! good luck!

Get some SARNA lotion, it's formulated as an "Anti-Itch" lotion, perfect for the belly itches! Itching is not a sure sign that you'll get stretch marks at all, just means your skin is stretching, dry and irritated. Genetic play a bigger role in determining if you're going to get stretch marks rather than anything else. Does your mom or fraternal grandmother have them? I itched like mad every time I was pregnant. l took Benadryl capsules and used Sarna anti-itch lotion. That Sarna feels cool and soothing, better than anything else I've ever used. Best of luck hon, try the Sarna. It's good stuff!

My belly was SO itchy during my pregnancy. Every night I rubbed cocoa butter on it, then in the morning I slathered on Body Butter (and then again throughout the day). It happens b/c your skin is stretching so tight. Does it also look a little red? My belly also got tiny red bumps on it, which made everything worse. However, I never got any stretch marks on my belly- only on my legs, so this does not necessarily mean that you are getting stretch marks.

My belly itched like crazy with one of my pregnancies. It was out of control. The Dr. had me use the benadryl cream through the whole pregnancy to relieve it. He said I was itching because i was stretching. he also told me to stop scratching it because that would promote stretch marks. Thankfully, I never got any stretch marks with any pregnancies. I never used any lotions or cocoa butters or anything else.

My belly itched constantly, but not until I was in my later months. It is the skin stretching that causes the itch. I would just use tons of lotion. Helps somewhat with stretch marks as well.

Oh yeah! When the stomach starts itching get ready for the stretch marks! Try using Coca butter, this helps, but it will not prevent them.

oh yeah and i tried not to because this makes it worse. my stomach got ruined. stretch marks have to do with the elasticity of your skin. just try to put as much lotion on it when it itches. it really didnt do much for me but it is a temporary relief and what little helps. and try rubbing your belly instead of itching it. hope this helps good luck. i also tried pure vitamin E this worked alot better than the palmers, it stinks but works.

The belly itching you should know after having two kids, is normal, is just your skin streching to give some room to your child to grow and stretch in your wound, talk to your OBGYN before applying any creams on your skin since some are absorbed by your skin and could affect your fetus. I recommend just to apply baby oil for now. Always trust to your doctor he/she is the only one that knows what's best for you; specially when you are pregnant. Good luck, and congratulations for your third pregnancy.
