I was trying to find a site that listed the consequences of no daylight and only continuous night time. What do you think would happen? Also if you know of any good sites to check out, please list them here. Thanks in advance!

well odviously plants and algea and such couldnt survive because of photosynthesis. If the plant's couldnt survive then all the herbivores would either have to evolve or die out as well. some people could become depressed from the lack of sunlight, it's called season affective disorder (http://www.clevelandclinic.org/health/health-info/docs/2300/2361.asp?index=9293)
people would also suffer from vitamin D deficiencies since your body requirese sunlight to produce it and there's no good way to take vitamin D that would come close to the amount you should get. The adverse effects are broad, it can inhibit calcium absorption, and can cause osteoperosis, rickets, breast and colon cancer, depression, schizophrenia, psoriasis, and many other problems.

Also I remember reading a paper on an experiment someone did where they placed people in a deep cave with no sunlight to study the effects. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly people's sleeping schedules were off but more regular than in a light environment.

Everything will slowly die, starting at the equator then to the poles and then to the bottom of the ocean. Some things on the ocean floor live off of volcano heat.

I'd think there would be some studies out there becuase Alaska and the poles get mostly daylight for part of the year and mostly dark for part of the year.

life would not thrive for too long, at least not life as we know it. sunlight keeps the earth temperature stable. the earths surface would completely freeze over. plants also rely on sunlight for energy. if all the plants die then so will all the animals that eat the plants and so will all the animals that eat the animals that eat the plants. basically everything will die!!!!!! i hope this helps!!!!

You would either have to get rid of the sun or stop the earth from turning on it's axis.
The dark side would freeze up and the sunny side would dry up from the intense tropical weather.
We would all be doomed!

It would certainly solve the problem of global warming. If it was dark all the time the earth would get cold and we would all die.
