Is anyone else amazed by how much credence cons seem to give insignificant celebrities?

Every time a celeb has the audacity to have an opinion, suddenly cons act like the celebrity is suddenly an expert whose opinion should be taken so seriously that the cons have to dig and scratch to come up with reasons why that expert isn't credible.

Meanwhile, rational people know they're JUST CELEBRITIES and should usually be ignored.

Does this amaze everyone, or just me?

And even if I had applauded... so what? It's my right to believe whatever I want. There's nothing in the Constitution that says I have to speak out in agreement with a war or a President I don't agree with. Until you can show me where I am obligated by the laws of my country to do that, you have no case.

Meanwhile, stop telling me who I do or do not support. Rosie O'Donnell is a moron, and the only people who are listening to her are extremists like you.

Any celebrity can have whatever opinion they like. That is their right.
The first issue I have is that the celebrities make themselves out to be experts on all issues. And they are never challenged by the media that gives them this forum. So celebrity X goes on 5 shows, some entertainment, some political. They are given an open mic to say whatever they want, and the other side is not heard from.
Second, when these people enter the political arena, they open themselves up to criticism. When someone (S. Crow) goes up to a Presidential Adviser at a dinner and tells him, " You need to look at this issue again." What do you expect is going to happen.
Third: It is sad but true, many people DO listen to these celebrities. So they need to be challenged.
Forth: These celebrities are ALWAYS hypocrites. That needs to be pointed to people who may not know.
Fifth: It is our RIGHT to criticize them. We have the same First Amendment Right as they do.
