i'm writing a paper on reactions to art work in the 19th century and i was just wondering what some of your reactions were to Rodin's "the Kiss". It caused quite a scandal when he first unveiled it but now it doesn't appear so unappropriate.

At least its not two dudes kissing... if it were the religious nut jobs would probably have dynamited it by now.

It's a masterpiece treasured by millions, but sadly to me its just a fancy hunk of marble. My sense of the asthetic has been somewhat stunted by living all my life in the southeast US, where stuffed animal carcasses, and velvet paintings of Elvis are considered to be high art.

I have a copy of that statue at home.
I think it is beautiful.
