My left eye is wonky - it tends to stick on the extreme left of my socket. So when somebody stares at me, in the eyes for too long, I can bring the left eye back to the middle, briefly. This usually scares the Hell out of them. Or they become embarrassed. Either way they stop.

At first I would stare right back, then I would raise an eyebrow, followed by a mischievous smirk or smile, and finished off with sticking out my tongue. Usually at some point they either smile and look away or come over and say hello. Works for me every time!! =)

Several options exist
1) Stare back
2) Close your eyes and pretend to try to sleep (good on public transport)
3) Walk away
4) Talk to them
Which one to use depends on the situation.
In most cases option 3 would seem to be the safest as it's non-confrontational.

I stare back. This usually works with normal people. If they seem strange, there's no eye contact on my part. That would be just asking for trouble.

If I like the person or am not feeling intimidated, I wink. If the stare is intimidating, I stare the hell back. If the stare is intrusive, I raise my eyebrows and try to get outta sight.

It depends who stares at you. If it's your love ones then that's different and if it's from a stranger, that's a big problem. If someone stares at you, you should stare at them back. If it's your love ones, that means he/she have a deep thought about you.

No one can stare longer than me. I do it all the time but most people stare back then look away and hit me.

i have the wonderful talent of being able to at will cross my eyes and then to one or the other roll around like up, across, down and over to the middle. Most everyone gets a bit flustered and looks away. Ain't that a great talent

I get shy... funny thing is a guy stared right into my eyes last night when i went to the shops , he was a fireman , he said hi to me i got all shy looked away and then said hi, lol
He then went all the way around the shop back to where i was again and stared and said hi again... i think he wanted my attention .lol xxx
