These stations usually have on decent programs that are funny, entertaining, educational and not vulgar. TV Land, The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, American Movie Classics, Hallmark Channel. Depends on what type of programs you like to watch. I Love Lucy, Mamas Family,Bill Cosby, The Jefferson's, all are funny and family friendly. The Deadliest Catch ( is one of the best informative programs on featuring fishing for crab in the Bearing Sea ) Dirty jobs is informative and funny , Gun smoke, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie all good western type programs. Check out the guides and especially these channels. Just choose your programs carefully there is so much that would be inappropriate in a garbage can.

"Heroes" is back on NBC Monday nights. Its got an ensemble cast, a great mystery, a horror element, and all the fun super-hero powers action. It reminds me of "Lost" before the writers proved they were just making it up as they go along...

"House" is excellent, but very dark and depressing. Laurie absolutely pushes the limits playing a character you want to despise, but can't help to like and to root for.

"Gilmore Girls" simply for the quirky characters and the lively banter. I see evidence of he influence of he old "Northern Exposure" and "Frasier" series. Watch if only because Alexis Bledel is a cutie and the show is over after this season.

"Mythbusters" on Discovery channel. Science + Two World Class Nerds + Explosions. 'Nuff said.

Heroes, Deadly Catch, Mythbusters, Dirt Jobs, Man vs Wild, Ultimate Fighter are some shows I watch. I try to watch Smallville, but it's time has past in my opinion. You'll notice I watch a lot of reality type shows. But, not the Hollywood reality shows. I find those stupid. I like science based reality shows. They are more like documentaries-the original reality show genre.

The only programme I base my evening round at the minute is Doctor Who.

There's nothing else worth watching at the moment, everything is just background noise.
