I would be disappointed in my family. Jealousy is never a good thing. My family should be happy for me at whatever level of success I reach in my life, not envious.

There's a difference between people who envy, admire or are jealous of you.
People who admire you, will support you in a positive way, feel inspired, be encouraging.
I see envy as a more 'harmless' form of jealousy. Envy will encourage a bit of competition, might be fleeting and the person feeling it won't wish you harm or act on it, like a grudging admiration, acknowledging the other person yet knowing and accepting what you have.
JEALOUSY on the other hand can lead to people trying to emotionally/mentally/spiritually harm you or jeopardise your success or YOU.
If you have read the bible (as a Christian or non-Christian), then you will also know that jealousy led to the first documented murder.
(Granted, extreme example).

Jealousy is both good and bad. If I'm jealous of something (such as someone's success or material goods) then it makes me work harder to be able to obtain things myself and I have. Some of my family are jealous of me, and I've yet to figure out why. But I'm happy they are because it means I'm successful in what I'm doing with my kids, my life and my career and if they are jealous, that's their problem not mine.

Jealousy is bad. Family members wouldn't be jealous of your success; they would be envious.

No. Jealousy isn't the worst sin. right this is what Jesus says: "each sin or blasphemy may be forgiven - different than blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, that may never be forgiven". (Matthew 12:31) Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is named an unforgivable sin. the clarification it incredibly is unforgivable is because of fact it reflects a settled, hardhearted ideas-set of defiant hostility in the direction of God. someone who has that ideas-set will never come to God for forgiveness - so this type of sin is unforgivable. in case you're apprehensive approximately no rely in case you have dedicated the unforgivable sin, that's rather not likely. with regards to jealousy: "you're nonetheless worldly. For for the reason that there is jealousy and quarrelling between you, are you not worldly? Are you not appearing like mere human beings?" (a million Corinthians 3:3) JEALOUSLY: a million a: illiberal of rivalry or unfaithfulness b: disposed to suspect rivalry or unfaithfulness. 2: antagonistic in the direction of a rival or one believed to delight in an benefit. 3: vigilant in guarding a possession. listed right here are the dictionary definitions. i think the only thank you to sidestep jealousy or manage jealous human beings is to grow to be unworldly (thoroughly supply up textile possessions and all 'human nature' techniques).

Jealousy is not a good thing for the people feeling it. They need to work through their own issues. Be proud of what you have accomplished in life.

This sounds terrible but I'm honest. I love it when my older sister is jealous of something I've done. When I was struggling to find a job and she got one she rubbed it in my face and when I had my son and my friends disappeared she actually laughed. So since she's a nasty cow and my life is going better than hers at the moment she's jealous and I'm loving every minute of it.
