Did you see this unbelievable story yet ?
A Lewiston Maine Middle School has suspended a child because he put a ham sandwich , which was in a lunch-bag, on a cafeteria table where Muslims often sit !!
AND, the school is already calling it a 'Hate Crime' !!
The reports that I saw acknowledge that the child did do t on purpose, but only as a child-like prank . Sure, they could've told him not to do it anymore, and perhaps taught him why , but they suspended him until further notice.
To add more lunacy to the story , the principal. . . . now get ready for this , the principal has decided to organize an "Anti-Ham Response Plan". . . LMAO all the way to kingdom come !! The principal went on to say that children need to learn that 'ham' is not a toy .
What on God's green earth do you think of this one ?

Just another illustration of what has become of our public school system.
Public (more accurately, GOVERNMENT) education in the US is almost exclusively a liberal experiment.
It is controlled and operated by progressives and this type of rampant political correctness and social indoctrination has usurped actual education as the fundamental purpose of these institutions.
Math and science runs a very distant second to 'self esteem' and 'awareness sensibilities'.
Meanwhile teachers unions dictate that inept educators must be tolerated, and accountability of both students AND teachers is to be rejected at all costs when it comes to academic achievment...but, instead, seem to spend an inordinate amout of time and energy manipulating social interaction and 'thought policing' students.
If the identical prank had been played on a Jewish student - as another poster pointed out - do you really think the punishment would have been as hysterical?
I think not.

OH.........MY.............GOD!!!! It frightens me that this is what the world is turning into. I have a right to be irritated, I work in a middle school that seems to be leaning in this direction of over-discipline in mild situations, and underdiscipline in the more violent situations. I swear that the principal and vice principal of our school are smokin' crack! Sounds like something that would happen where I work. I wonder what would happen to my job if I unknowingly offered a ham sandwich to a muslim kid? But does this really surprise anyone? Muslims tend to separate themselves from the whole of society since they can't seem to live as neighbors with anyone different from themselves. Talk about racist!

OMG, you have got to be kidding me! I haven't seen this story yet, thats just insane.
The principal should be relieved of his duty for attempting to incite a riot. Thats all this will accomplish.
Actually if the principal wants to take that route the childs parents should sue the school for violation of his constitutional rights and freedom of expression, even censorship. Not to mention the right to protest, and the right of religion. Ham is not against his religion so why should he be subjected to another religion and have to alter his life for them?

I saw this on Fox & Friends this Morning ! A bunch of overly sensitive adolesent mohammidans complained about a Ham Sandwich left by a class mate. This is rediculas, esp. the responce by the Communist school administration. Violate the rights of the majority to apease the anger of the minority ?!? LORD ! Deliver US !
Be Blessed in Christ Jesus !

Hmmm yes absolutely ridiculous...can see a little bit of why that area is over sensitive, same place an adult rolled a pig's head into a muslim worship area. An over reaction to charge a kid with a hate crime some other recent cases in the media come to mind.
Still find it odd that such liberal PC stuff comes up in defense of muslim religion but the doing away of Christmas break, or Christmas trees in a school but now a school is attempting to regulate ham to protect a religious belief? What happened to their "motto of separation of church and state"?

What a ham!
The problem with any hate crimes legislation whatsoever is that it punishes thought, rather than behavior. If we begin adding non-violent behavior to the list of what constitutes
"hate crimes," then after a while, we are punishing thoughts and non-violent actions, which could lead to some very troubling outcomes.

I really wish people WOULD LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE!!!
Children don't have political, religious or any other kind of opinion!!!
They have a rough enough time growing up in this TWISTED world....let them be kids!! And I don't care how old they are....kindergarten or senior in high school!!
They ARE STILL KIDS!!!
LEAVE THEM ALONE and they might actually be able to get a good education and become a productive member of society!!
Stop this political correctness....it's doing nothing but just twisting the world even FURTHER!!!
Sorry....went off on a rant again! Need some more caffeine!

Amazingly boneheaded. How utterly ridiculous and insane. I hope the the parents of the student fight back. We have to draw a line and put an end to this hate crime nonsense. That is the most Ridiculous item of the day.

I think that it was a severe overreaction by the Principal. The child should have been disciplined by study hall or detention and sent to speak with a counselor.
