yesterday my husband was in the closet reaching/standing up on something to change the lightbulb and when he went to jump back down on the floor, the sole of his foot landed on a subwoofer (on the edge) and after that he was in pain, hops around on his foot *cant bear no weight on it* and there is a big bulge/lump from the side of the sole to the bottom that hurts when moved and touched. what could be the problem? he can move his foot it just hurts and the lump/bulge is swollen and hard....gonna take him to doc today, but just for now wondering what it could be

Ouch! He probably has a broken foot.

Could be a sprain or a break. Elevate the foot until he sees Doc

Possible sprain. He should put ice on it to reduce the swelling. The Dr will probably give him some Motrin.
