Unable to fit lamp shades fittings very tight

If you are referring to shade rings on plastic lampholders, you will have to cut them off and fit new ones. The lampholder has swollen with age and heat, and jammed itself into the ring. Make sure that your replacements are marked 'T2' these are more able to withstand the heat of larger wattage lamps and will last longer.

they snap easily if your not careful try squirting wd40 in the gap
