It's everywhere. Mostly the fashion right now...I almost sh*t my pants when I saw a Black Sabbath shirt at J.C. Pennys. I mean do you know hard it was to get awesome band shirts in the late 80's and 90's, you had to WORK to get the rock shirts you really wanted. It's cool that you can get a Van Halen shirt at the mall, but it's lame if the people who buy these shirts aren't really into the band. It reminds me of the kids at my high school in the 90's who wore Grateful Dead shirts and didn't own any albums...they just wanted to advertise the fact that they tried smoking pot. Ohhh Ashlee Simpson has a Journey shirt on, we all need them now....ughhh.

People are finally getting tired of the corporate sponsored commercialism that dominates every aspect of America. Have you even listened to rap stations lately? The songs are a joke. If you take out the beat, the lyrics are beyond pathetic its not even funny anymore. There are a lot of similar rock bands who all have the same style as well. We need to bring back the "oldies" considering they are actually WORTH LISTENING TO. I despise the radio and television AND I'M UNDER 30!

God I sure hope so because it seems like the majority of rock musicians today are not musically inclined at all like they were back in the 70's and 80's. Even today's metal music sucks. I hate hearing some of the singers when they sing you can't understand them at all because it sounds like they are trying to pinch one off. Even Metallica's music isn't as good as it was back in the 80's they sold out to this new generation style new wave music crap. I think people are getting tired of the same old hip-hop and Britney Spears type of crap and want to hear some actual music.

Tough for me to consider Nirvana "old rock", but....
Yeah, I've been noticing the recent trend of teens/tweens wearing Stones & AC/DC, etc t-shirts. I do think it's partly b/c places like Virgin Records & The Gap sell em though.
Lots of times I'm SO temped to stop one of those kids & ask- "Can you name me 3 AC/DC songs?"
May be cynical, but it Would be nice to know kids are waking up & realizing the classics are...Good!

It appears as though radio and concert promoters are cashing in on the 30-somethings and 40- somethings desire to be nostalgic and recapture their high school days.Additionally,it gives those artists the opportunity to make a little money from their classic hits, since many of them are not producing new material.

Yeah its pubrock, its making a huge come back. Just look at velvet revolver and Guns n' roses and the who all made new albums recently (g n' r and velvet coming out really soon june-ish). A lot of young aussie bands like wolfmother and personal favourite Juke Kartel are really help bring it back.

I love that sh*t! Music today is stale, and as long as they can bring back the originality of that era of rock (long shot, I know) it'll be great. At least The Police are back together again. There's some hope.
