I share an office with 4 other postgrad students in a small office. Our Research Division Leader has given us an allowance of $400 as a one off payment for the office to be 'personalised'. We all ahve PCs, a small kitchen with kettle, microwave, fridge and we cant agree what to get (posters, plants, technology, expresso machine). Any suggestions?

If you bring in visitors, maybe buy something that would entertain them while they wait.
I just put in an aquarium in my offce, and it's great. Very relaxing. And, it's a good conversation topic for my guests.

1. plants - to give fresh air and nice ambiance
2. expresso machine - to keep you alert for those sleepy days
